Install and Update Agent Assets from AgentExchange

Apps on AgentExchange contain the subagents, actions, MCP server tools, or MCP servers that extend what your agents can do. Install an app to add its assets to your org, then add them to an agent in Agentforce Builder. Update an installed app to get its latest version.

Install an App

  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Agentforce Studio.

  2. Open your agent in Agentforce Builder.

  3. From Explorer, go to Subagents, and then click Add from Asset Library.

  4. Browse AgentExchange, and then select a subagent card to view its details.

  5. On the asset details page, confirm the publisher and version before you install.

  6. Click Install App for All Users.

A progress strip tracks the install’s status in the background so you can keep working on your agent. If you install several apps at once, each one is tracked separately. A notification confirms when installation finishes and lets you know that the app’s assets are ready to use.

For a free AgentExchange app in a non-production org, if you don’t have the Download AgentExchange Packages permission and Install Request Approvers is turned on, enter a reason in Business Justification, and then click Send Request. If Install Request Approvers isn’t turned on, users who can’t install an app don’t see Send Request. For an app that isn’t installed, they see I’m Interested instead.

    Note

  7. When installation finishes, click Go to Library to find related subagents and actions in the Asset Library. Then select the asset that you want to add to your agent.

Update an Installed App

  1. From the Asset Library, open the installed app’s details page.

When an update is available, the heading reads Update your app to an available version, and the page shows Your Version and Available Version so you can compare them.

  2. Click Update Package.

Monitor the update in the installation progress area.

For a free AgentExchange app in a non-production org, if you don’t have the Download AgentExchange Packages permission and Install Request Approvers is turned on, enter a reason in Business Justification, and then click Send Request. A designated approver receives the request and can update the app for you.

    Note

You can continue using the installed subagent, action, MCP server, or MCP server tool with the current app version until the update completes.
