Log In with Hardware 2FA

Learn how to log in to Data Loader with OAuth and hardware 2FA.
You must create a Salesforce External Client App before using OAuth and two-factor authentication (2FA). See Create a Secure Connection with an External Client App.
To log in using OAuth and 2FA:
  1. Choose an action from Data Loader's main menu (for example, Insert, Update, Export).
  2. In the Step 1: Log In screen, select OAuth, and select your Environment.
  3. Click Log in.
  4. To complete the login process, follow the instructions in the Login from Browser window. By clicking the Link to Verification Page, you’re guided through a 2FA login sequence in your browser. You can use a hardware key, if necessary.
