Object Overview

This section provides a list of Tooling API objects, their fields, and supported SOAP API calls and REST resources. Not all fields are listed for all objects. The objects are grouped into categories for easier discovery and identification.

The Tooling API includes the tooling namespace tns (urn:tooling.soap.sforce.com) and the metadata namespace mns (urn:metadata.tooling.soap.sforce.com). The two namespaces refer to each other in some Tooling API elements.

To verify the complete list of fields for an object, see the Tooling API WSDL. To access the Tooling API WSDL, from Setup, click Develop | API and click Generate Tooling WSDL.
